A little about me, Ansofie

Hi there! I am so happy that you found this space. You might be here because you are interested in taking art classes or maybe you are looking for that special painting to hang in that empty spot. I love making art and also really enjoy sharing that love with others.
I can't remember a time when I didn't draw or paint. As a young girl I attended one-on-one art classes with an artist called Joy...and she really did open my eyes to the joys of creating art (pun intended). High school, at an Art School where art was actually cool, was instrumental in shaping the creative me. School was followed by a Fine Arts qualification in PTA, filled with anything and everything...from textile design, technical drawing, printmaking and figure drawing to slowing down and finding majors in painting and ceramics. The whole experience changed the way I look at art, art materials and creativity.

And I have been making art ever since. Even when I am busy with other things like my degree in Ancient history or raising the kids, art have a way of sneaking in...through papers on how to illustrate a children's book about an ancient hero (and making that book) or painting giraffes in little boys rooms.

If I am not in my studio painting or sharing art theory, art history and being a sounding board for my lovely students, I love reading novels by the bucketful and listening to podcasts while cooking something savoury.
One thing remains sure, being able to spend my whole day painting and sharing my knowledge and passion with others is a true privilege.
